Who Am I?

So this was for my leadership class and I got to doing it and I really liked what it made me do as far as answers. It asked me four questions.
1.What are 3 things you believe to be true about yourself?
2.What are 3 values you have?
3.What are your strengths and how do you know them?
3.What do you need to work on and how do you know?

To fully answer the question “Who Am I?” in a paper is a very difficult thing to do. The reason being, honestly, is that I don’t know exactly who I am quite yet. I know my values and morals and where I have been and where I want to go in life, but I don’t fully understand who I am. At least not yet. That basically covers one thing I believe to be true about myself. I am constantly searching for the right parameters to define myself with, and at the same time growing out of those same parameters. Which leads me to my next truth, I feel like I think through things so much that I over think a good bit. While we’re on the subject of me thinking, the last thing that I think is true about me is that there has never been anyone like me ever. No one has thought how I do, acted like I do, or feels how I feel because I am an individual. I may subscribe to different labels and brands, but you will never find anyone else like me. .
Being in college, my values are much different than most people. I value truth, effort, and belief. These three things seem very simple but they have a large meaning to me. For starters, someone who tells the truth above all things tends to be very transparent. Transparency is a difficult thing to come by because it can be so scary to let people into your life and take them on your journey of self-discovery. Some people see that I value effort and say that doesn’t make sense, and it isn’t easy to understand just said like that, but hopefully I can make sense of it. Some people see a problem that is difficult or even seemingly impossible to solve and they don’t try. When I say I value effort I love it when people try no matter what, even if they know it isn’t going to make a difference. That is the merit of effort to me, simply not giving up. But my favorite quality or value is belief. I am a Christian and have been since I was little, and although that is important to me that isn’t what I mean by belief. What I mean when I say belief is just believing that there is more to life than what we see. It is what makes us more than a robot . It is what gives us opinions and emotions and everything that makes people so complex and so beautiful. To me belief is an amazing thing.
I wouldn’t say that I am exceptionally strong in many areas of life, but one thing that I enjoy doing is listening. I guess I could define it as problem solving, but sometimes people don’t even need advice, they just need to say what they feel to understand it. I thinking that listening to people’s problems is one of my greatest strengths because I love doing it. Whether it is school, relationships, work, family, or just whatever, I really enjoy trying to help people work through their problems. I always just try to put myself in their shoes and understand how they are feeling and what they are going through and see if I can help in any way. I suppose that is why I am good at it, because I can at least try to relate to everyone.
On the other hand, I feel like I could improve in a lot of areas in my life. Commitment, focus, sarcasm, health, and organization are a few, but let’s focus (haha get it?) on organization. I have so many things that I want to do in life that I get lost sometimes. I get on so many different paths that I can’t decide which one to follow and end up cutting things short or forgetting things. I just need to do a much better job of organizing my life instead of just living all the time. I know this because I tend to forget important things, like this paper for example. If I can organize my life better I feel like I will be much more successful and have more fun with life.
Basically in answering four questions I just spilled out a good chunk of what you need to know about me. I am like simplified chaos at some times, but overall I feel like I turn that into a good thing. But if there’s one thing that I don’t tell most people and probably shouldn’t put on here it’s that, well, I am Batman !
